Social Bookmarking

Just finished Social Bookmarking/Delicious - the amount of information available here was overwhelming. I would definitely use this at home - not at work. I can see how this tool would be invaluable to a person doing research. I will keep this site in mind the next time I feel I need to "research" something. Not sure I would be able navigate through all the options that are available on this site. I would need much more practice.

Twitter

Created Twitter account - I did not like this site - I don't think I will ever use it. Most of my correspondence is via e-mail. Do not use at work.

Virtual Library

Rapid Research - I found this site very easy to use and was amazed at how easy it was to access information. I particularly enjoyed the Heritage Quest site. I am glad I visited it and would use it again. Although I don't usually use this site, it was interesting to see how much information was here - marriages, siblings, etc.

I also visited the DVD/Books site - I could stay on this site forever!!! I already use this to look up books/movies I want - to see what library has an audio version of the books I want. I also have ordered DVDs from here. I use this site all the time!! I love it and would be lost without it!!!

Podcasts, IM and Downloadable Audio Books

I visited Podcast Alley - I did not care for this site. It did not hold any interest for me. I would not use this at home or at work.

IM - I did not finish working on this - could not remember any e-mail addresses for my contacts. May do a little later.

Downloadable Audio - I loved this site! I only wish they would have more current books available (instead of "domain" only). I am listening to a story as I write this! I think this would be a great asset to the library. Since people are more "on the go" than ever - they can drive, do housework, etc. while listening to their favorite books! I would definitely use this! I always use the audio version of books so that I can multi-task!

Wikis

Wow! Up until today whenever I wanted to find out about a subject I used the Google search engine - I had heard about "Wikipedia" but never used it. I could spend hours on this site. I enjoyed reading all the info. and was overwhelmed at the information on there. I would definitely use this again.

Social Networking

Just finished "Social Networking" I can understand the usefulness of this, but I'm not sure I would use this for myself. I found it extremely easy to use. I have used it in the past (on other people's account), but I don't think I would use it on a regular basis. I do not use the computer at work.

Flicker

Had trouble posting pictures to blog. However I did successfully post to Denise's blog. Don't understand how this happened. . . perhaps I will try at home with my own pictures and see how it turns out. I would not use this at work and I can definitely use this at home, since I am terrible about getting photos to people in a timely manner!

YouTube

Used YouTube and liked it, but probably would not use at work as I don't use the computers at work. I already have my music on iTunes, so probably won't use this at home. I did find it a great reference point for finding similar music.

RSS and Feed Readers

Used RSS and Feed Readers for the first time. This was good information to know, but don't know if I'd use at home/work. I thought it was difficult to navigate around in.

First Blog

This is my first blog. I found this first Tune-up to be fairly easy to understand and edit, but I'm not sure I would personally use it. Stay tuned for further progress. . .
